Q: How many people will be attending the
International Ball?
A: We are expecting over 250 people.
Q: What kind of people will be attending?
A: Young professionals that like to party and celebrate in
style! There will be people from many different backgrounds mainly
in the 25-45 age range.
Q: What’s the format for the evening?
A: The evening kicks off at 7.00pm with a
drinks reception, during which you can mix and mingle, while enjoying a range of delicious canapés as a first course. After this you
will be seated from 8.30pm according to the pre-arranged table plan for three more courses followed by coffee. In between courses we have lots of entertainment lined up and after dinner you still have a few more
hours to mix, mingle and dance the night away until 2.00am!
Q: What kind of food will there be?
A: In keeping with the Bollywood theme the food will be mainly
Indian & Asian inspired dishes. The substantial canapés will be
served from 7.30 pm onwards so you won't have to wait for food! There will
be another pre-plated starter at your table, with the main course served in
large bowls (karai stands) so that you can help yourself to whatever you
want without moving from your seat. Dessert and coffee will be served from a separate stand so you have
time to digest the first three courses before attacking these at your leisure! This also
gives you longer to dance.
Q: What entertainment do you have lined up?
A: We have some live musicians as well as dancers all the way from Mumbai
(Bombay) the home of Bollywood. We also have a dance teacher who will be
demonstrating some Bollywood moves for you to try out for yourself! As an after dinner
speaker we have Reg Athwal, our own unique mix of Anthony Robbins and Deepak Chopra.
Our highly experienced DJs will be playing a mix of music to keep everyone happy
and the dance floor packed!
Q: What is the Bollywood theme all about?
A: Bollywood is the name given to the Indian film industry which produces more
movies than Hollywood and is popular all over the world. It is characterised by
expansive song and dance routines performed in glamorous and glitzy costumes.
Q: Have you organised these kind of events before?
A: Yes, we have organised numerous Black Tie Balls at 5* and 4* deluxe
venues in London and internationally as well! The International Ball has been
running for 2 years and was a big success at the Cafe Royal last year attracting
250 Londoners from over 20 different nationalities!
Q: How strict is the dress code?
A: It is a black tie event but if you don’t have a formal
dinner suit, a smart suit and tie is acceptable or you can of course dress
in the glamorous and glitzy Bollywood style.
Q: Will it be formal and stuffy?
A: Absolutely not! It is an opportunity to really let your
hair down and have some fun!
Q: What kind of music will there be?
A: We have classical live musicians for the drinks reception and
during dinner. After dinner the DJ takes over, playing your
favourite dance tracks from all over the world while you dance the
night away. There will also be plenty of Bollywood numbers and a Bollywood
dance teacher to help you get into the swing of things!
Q: Will there be traditional ballroom
dancing?
A: No, not really, but the DJs will
consider requests, at their discretion, that they believe the
audience will respond to.
Q: Is it for couples only?
A: Not at all! Most people book in groups of
friends, including couples and singles.
Q: Can I attend on my own?
A: Some people have booked on their own and we will
introduce these people to others and put them together so that they can
quickly make friends.
Q: Can I get my ticket at the door?
A: Tickets are in advance ONLY and there will be NO ticket
sales at the door.
Q: When is the latest that I can book?
A: We will continue to sell tickets as long as these are
available, subject to time and other organisational constraints.
However we expect to sell out in advance therefore you should book
your tickets now if you are interested in attending and pay before 30th April
to secure your early bird discount. There will also be a booking fee for very
late bookings!
Q: What is the difference between VIP and
Standard tickets?
A: Early bird Standard tickets are £60, VIP tickets are £80. VIP
ticket holders benefit from a professional mounted photo worth £10, double
the amount of complimentary wine and soft drinks with dinner and the best seats in
the house from which to enjoy the extensive entertainment line-up.
Together with priority check-in, this adds up to much more than the
£20 difference in price.
Q: Is there a hotel package?
A: The best prices are normally available nearer the time once the hotel
has an idea about occupancy levels. We will also be researching Internet offers and
other cheaper hotels in the area. It is best to book your ticket for the Ball now without
waiting for our hotel offers which can always be added later.
Q: Why are tickets so expensive?
A: The Grand Ballroom of the Radisson SAS Portman is a sumptuous, 4* star
deluxe, central London venue. Similar events from other organisations, at comparable venues, range
in price from £75 to £250, therefore we are right at the bottom of that
price range. A meal with drinks at a classy restaurant followed by a
night of clubbing until 2.00am can easily cost the best part of £100,
therefore we are offering excellent value at the price!
Q: Can I get a discount?
A: If you are booking a full table of ten, call us and we will work out a deal for you. The sooner you do this the more likely it is that we can offer you something worthwhile.
Q: How can I get free tickets?
A: By recommending all your friends to us! We gave away over a dozen tickets
to last year's International Ball. Those people that recommend the highest number of
new people win tickets but we also have a random prize draw with one entry for each
person that you recommend. Either way, the more people you recommend the better your
chance of attending for free! People who make large bookings also qualify for complimentary
tickets.
Q: How can I book tickets?
A: Just call the bookings hotline on 0871 271 4080 or
