Dress Code: Formal Black Tie Ball

The 20th Anniversary Fundraising Ball for the Suzy Lamplugh Trust was the first in their history and went off beautifully with the help of the Karmalive team.  A good time was had by all and in the process around £40,000 was raised for the charity from this single evening true to our motto of Making… Giving… Fun!!!

The event started with an hour long champagne reception in the beautiful surroundings of the Roof Top Conservatory, the champagne continued to flow until the end with almost half a bottle allocated per person!  In the background the Keith Waithe Quintet played their unique blend of jazz with influences from Africa and South America.  Further entertainment was provided by a paper cutter mingling with the crowd.

Dinner was a 4 course gourmet meal including roast red peppers, English lamb or roasted aubergine and lemon and lavender tart followed by coffee with home made fudge and truffles.

After dinner TV comedian Jo Brand had the audience in stitches with her incisive and self deprecating blend of humour which paved the way for TV’s “Home under the Hammer” auctioneer Charles Smailes to raise thousands of pounds for the charity from items such as: a 13 night luxury cruise, a signed 1966 World Cup Football Shirt, crates of champagne and fine wine, a 3 night luxury hotel stay worldwide, a tailored suit from Gieves and Hawkes and other prizes.

Finally the dance floor was opened to the guests and they boogied the rest of the night away to old tunes and new from the Obsession Crew with a guest slot from Janice Long.

All in all a very enjoyable and successful night that went off without a hitch, thanks to the meticulous preparation and team effort from the Suzy Lamplugh Trust and Karmalive staff!
